No danger in ‘sideswipe’ says Fustaigne

The Chairman of Western Plains Racing Club, Lester Fustaigne has reassured punters that all bets are safe after a jockey attempted to force the other runners off the track during a race.

Speaking after his horse Vintage Cough won the Western Plains Sweepstakes at 20/1, Mr Fustaigne said horses were unpredictable creatures and sometimes they might win when they’re not supposed to. ‘That’s where a jockey needs to use all his skills’ said Fustaigne.

Where they finished
Vintage Cough: First
Good Thing Beaten: Second
Hot Favourite: Car Park
Shergar: Western Plains Zoo & Brasserie
