Western Plains leading feminist and operator of the town’s only mobile transgender dog washing business, Kylie Fustaigne, has hit back at media coverage of the Western Plains ‘Women Mean Business’ annual dinner at the Grand Hotel in Liebig Street.
Ms Fustaigne said that each year her group made strenuous efforts to break the glass ceiling, as well as the glass chandeliers, the glass windows, the glass mirrors and the hotel’s plastic beer cups. However media coverage of the event focussed on the strides that the women had made towards gender equality, rather than the strides they were wearing.
She said this was just further evidence of Western Plains deeply sexist culture.
‘Western Plains women can behave and dress just as badly as Western Plains men, if not worser’ said Ms Fustaigne. ‘That’s miss, not mizz’ she added.
