Local residents have rallied in support of staff at the Western Plains Cafe and Laundrette who were so fed up with patrons paying with money retrieved from undergarments that they have put the attached sign at the cash register.
‘We had four or five people that did it,’ said cafe owner Robin Bastard.
She said the straw that broke the camel’s back was a man who tried to pay his bill with money retrieved from a thin cotton compartment adjacent to his testicles.
Robin Bastard who has run the Cafe Laundrette in Western Plains for three years denied that the sign was thinly disguised racism.
‘It’s not thinly disguised at all,’ she said, ‘Everybody’s doing it in this part of the world.’
